Welcome to the Cecchetti Society Trust Newsletter
This month we are pleased to report on the success of our Trust event From Studio to Stage, a fitting tribute to the memory of two exceptional Cecchetti teachers, Barbara Fewster OBE and Richard Glasstone MBE. Read more about this very special afternoon below.

The deadline dates for applications for both the CST Teachers Study Bursaries and CST Small and General Grants are fast approaching this month, so don’t miss the opportunity to apply!

The Trust is pleased to continue to support the Cecchetti Classical Ballet Scholars and the ISTD is holding a Scholars Open Day on 6th July 2025 to showcase their work. The event offers students who may be considering auditioning to become a Scholar in the future, along with teachers and parents, a unique insight into this special scheme.

Teacher Study Bursaries
Application Deadline! 9th June 2025

The Trust Teacher Study Bursaries offer a range of bursaries at all levels to support teachers in their study of Cecchetti classical ballet. So if you are considering attending a summer school or course, or are planning professional development study in the summer or autumn of 2025, a Trust bursary could help achieve this aim. Applications are welcomed from those in the UK and internationally studying ISTD Cecchetti.  Terms & Conditions and an Application Form are available using the button link below. Small & General Grants 2025
Application Deadline! 15th June 2025

It is not too late to apply for a Cecchetti Society Trust Small Grant (up to £1,000) and General Grant (over £1,000) for the academic year 2025/26.  The Grants are to support events, activities or projects that will extend opportunities for Cecchetti learners beyond an individual school/teacher/student.

Cecchetti Scholars Open Day
Sunday 6th July 2025 - 13:00-17:00
Arts Educational School, Chiswick

The ISTD cordially invites you to join the Cecchetti Scholars for an inspiring event, dedicated to showcasing the exceptional work of the Scholars. This afternoon is a unique opportunity for parents, teachers and prospective students to see the current Scholars at work and learn more about this special scheme for talented young dancers The programme includes the opportunity to observe the Scholars in class and performing. Also to participate in classes/workshops and a Q&A session where any queries about the Scholars scheme can be answered.

Patrons & Trustees

The Cecchetti Society Trust was established in 1978 through a generous legacy from Cyril Beaumont, first Chair of the Cecchetti Society and a revered dance author and historian. Over the years many esteemed colleagues have served as Patrons and Trustees. Past Chairs of the Trust were Diana Barker 1978-1990, Barbara Fewster OBE 1990-1999, Mary-Jane Duckworth 1999-2014.

The Trust is very honoured to have Dame Monica Mason, Sir David Bintley and Kevin O’Hare CBE as our Patrons. Their ongoing support and advocacy of the value of Cecchetti work is invaluable to the Trust.

The Trust also has appointed Trustees who give their time, professional skills and experience on a voluntary basis to carry out the work of the Trust. Current Trustees are Elisabeth Swan (Chair), Diane van Schoor (Vice Chair), Ruth Brill, Janine Griffis, Catherine Hutchon, Eileen McKendry-Gray, Kristina Rogge and Richard Thom.
