Welcome to the Cecchetti Society Trust Newsletter

From Studio to Stage 2026 will take place on Sunday 19th April, 2026 at The Royal Ballet School, Covent Garden. Tickets will go on sale on Monday 9th March and Trustees look forward to welcoming many of our supporters to this special day.

Teachers and students in Malta have been celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Cecchetti Method being taught on the island. Celebrations included a photographic exhibition about the life, work and legacy of Maestro Cecchetti. The Trust was pleased to support the staging of this special exhibition of archive material, on loan from Cecchetti’s home town of Civitanova Marche, Italy.

The Trust continues to support the training of young dancers through the Cecchetti Scholarship Scheme. Auditions for entry in 2026/27 will take place on 9th May and applications are now open. Please share this exciting opportunity with students and teachers.

Cecchetti Society Trustees cordially invite you to attend From Studio to Stage on 19th April 2026 at The Royal Ballet School, Covent Garden, from 13.15 - 17.30, with coffee and registration from 12.30. The event will showcase some of the work the Trust supports and the programme includes: -

Cecchetti Days of the Week - Diane van Schoor FISTD (CB), FRSA, Enrico Cecchetti Diploma & Vocational Students.
Performances - Scholars & Vocational Award Winners
Enrico Cecchetti Photographic Exhibition, Malta presentation by Johane Casabene, Exhibition Curator.
In Conversation - Ruth Brill, Trustee, talks to Kevin O’ Hare, CBE, Director of The Royal Ballet.

During the afternoon there will be the opportunity to socialise with colleagues and guests over afternoon tea and a glass of fizz. Further programme details and information will be published on the Trust website at:

Ticket Booking Tickets are available to teachers, students (minimum age 11 yrs) and all lovers of ballet who would like to know more about Cecchetti and the work of the Trust. Tickets will be on sale from 9th March 2026 priced £40.00 (Adult), £25.00 (Concessions) and can be purchased using the button link below.

Cecchetti Malta 60 Years Celebration & Enrico Cecchetti Exhibition

Manoel Theatre Valletta, Malta

2026 marks 60 years of teaching of the Cecchetti Method first introduced to Malta by Tanya Bayona. To celebrate this anniversary teachers joined together for a weekend of events organised by the Cecchetti Legacy Group - Malta. The celebrations began with the opening of a very special photographic exhibition of Maestro Cecchetti’s life, career and artistic legacy on loan from archives held at Civitanova Marche, Italy. The weekend concluded with a performance presentation by Cecchetti Schools in the beautiful Manoel Theatre.

The Trust was delighted to be able to help support the staging of the photographic exhibition, which is highly recommended viewing and is open to the public at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta, Malta until the end of April 2026.

Cecchetti Classical Ballet Scholars 2026/2027 Entry Auditions

Applications Open!

The Cecchetti Classical Ballet Scholarship Scheme offers talented young dancers outstanding training and performance experience. The scheme is funded by the Cecchetti Society Trust and organised by the Cecchetti Society Classical Ballet Faculty, ISTD. Applications are now open for the Cecchetti Scholars Auditions for entry for the academic year 2026/27. The Auditions will take place on Saturday 9th May at Arts Educational Schools,
14 Bath Road, London, W4 1LW. Exact audition times will be confirmed nearer the date but will not start before 13.00.
