Welcome to the Cecchetti Society Trust Newsletter

The Cecchetti Society Trust Vocational Classical Ballet Awards will take place on Sunday 23rd November 2025 at Elmhurst Ballet School, Birmingham.

For participants: the deadline for entering the Awards is 20th October 2025.  Application information for teachers and students is available below.

For supporters: Trustees hope you will be able to attend this very special Trust event in November and enjoy the performances of the talented young dancers taking part. 

Also taking place in November are the ISTD Cecchetti Society Classical Ballet Faculty Mabel Ryan Awards and Cecchetti Malta Awards. The Trust is pleased to continue to support these annual competitions providing opportunities for young dancers.

Applications Open!

The Cecchetti Society Trust is pleased to offer young UK and International students the exciting opportunity to participate in these Awards. The Awards incorporate the Fewster Cecchetti Scholarship, the Barbara Geoghegan Award and the Cyril Beaumont Scholarship. The generous monetary awards provided by the Trust are to support classical ballet training.

The competition is open to students training at vocational levels who meet the relevant criteria. Specific eligibility for each award (including age, level of Cecchetti study and examination requirements) are given in the Terms & Conditions. Applications are now open.
NB Application deadline is
20th October 2025.

Cecchetti Malta Awards 2025

The Trust is very pleased to be able to continue to support the ISTD Cecchetti Society Classical Ballet Faculty Mabel Ryan Awards and the Cecchetti Malta Awards. The Mabel Ryan Awards 2025 take place on 2nd November 2025 at Elmhurst Ballet School, Birmingham. For further details go to the ISTD website:

The Cecchetti Malta Awards 2025 take place on 30th November 2025 at the Brigitte Gauci Borda School of Dance, Sliema, Malta. For further details go to the ISTD website: https://www.istd.org/events/cecchetti-malta-awards-2025/

Applications are now open for both competitions and the Trust wishes all the participants well in both these upcoming events.

Grants & Bursaries
Application Dates 2026

The Cecchetti Society Trust supports a number of grants and bursaries annually for special projects and to support study for teachers.  To assist with forward planning, the Trust is pleased to advise the next application deadline dates for each of the following categories:-

CST Teachers Study Bursaries 2026
(for study January - December 2026)          
Application Date: 2nd March 2026

CST Project Grants 2026/27
(for the academic year September 2026 - August 2027)             Application Date: 15th June 2026
