Welcome to the Cecchetti Society Trust Newsletter

As outlined in our last Newsletter, the Trust has invited Small and General grant applications and there is still time before the 15th June deadline - so if you wish to apply, don’t delay!

Cecchetti Day 2024, organised by the ISTD Cecchetti Classical Ballet Faculty, took place in April. It was a pleasure to see students and events that the Trust has supported showcased in the programme, including the Junior and Senior Scholars in our header picture.

This summer will be high profile for the international Cecchetti community, with the CICB Competition taking place in Michigan, USA in July. It promises to be a wonderful week of dance, so if any readers are still making holiday plans, or will be in the USA at that time, do consider taking the opportunity to be part of this special event.

Small Grants & General Grants
Academic Year 2024/25
Application Deadline - 15th June 2024!

If any teachers or schools in the UK or Internationally have a special Cecchetti project that they are planning, a Trust Grant may help realise this. The Trust is inviting applications for Small Grants (up to £500) and General Grants (over £500) for the academic year 2024/25. The Grants are to support events, activities or projects that will extend opportunities for Cecchetti learners beyond an individual school/teacher/student. Applications may be made by individuals or organisations but should align with the Trust’s objective to encourage, support and promote participation in Cecchetti classical ballet. 2024 Student Summer Study
Bursaries Awarded

The Trust has recently awarded 14 Student Summer Study Bursaries to suppport young Cecchetti trained dancers aged 12 - 19 years. The students will attend summer schools or intensive courses, organised by Cecchetti teachers in the UK and internationally, to enhance and support their regular ballet training. Applications for 2024 are now closed and information about 2025 Bursaries will be published in the new year.

CICB Competition 2024
Michigan, USA

The CICB Competition will take place in Michigan, USA from 21st - 27th July with outstanding young dancers from Cecchetti Societies around the world participating. This special event is hosted and organised by the Cecchetti Council of America (CCA) at Hope College in the historic and picturesque town of Holland. The competition events include the adjudicated ballet and contemporary classes and solos for Junior and Senior students and the week concludes with the Finalists Gala. The CCA International Teacher Seminar will also run concurrently with the CICB Competition. Full details of this wonderful week of dance can be found on the CCA website using the link below.
